Fingerprint PowderLatent powder and magnetic powders have been the choice of fingerprinting experts for years. Select either black, white, bichromatic, fluorescent red, fluorescent green powder and more, depending upon the latent surface. Use white powder on dark surfaces and black powder on light surfaces. Bichromatic powder is useful on light and dark surfaces. Fluorescent powders work well on wooden surfaces, such as rifle stocks and wood paneling. They can also can be used with filters and UV lights. Add $1 for fluorescent powder. We also carry fluorescent powders which are applied with either a magnetic wand or a feather duster. Fluorescent powders are used in conjunction with a UV light and goggles, usually orange. View your powder options by clicking on the pulldown menu.

I purchased magnetic fluorescent red powder many times. It is very easy to use and makes a vivid image. I can recommend it even to children as educational material.

Out of a few other powders I tried this was the best one. With the others I had an issue with the powder sticking to the subject and clumping up. I wanted a very fine powder and this worked the very well.

i have used purple thief powder in the past. It was very effective, messy but effective. One dot grows to cover everything you touch, spreads to face work surfaces...amazing...very hard to wash off, seems to activate when exposed to water...nasty stuff..but very effective.
