Use these UV (ultraviolet) lights for close examination of the crime scene to reveal evidence not visible to the naked eye under normal lighting.
Evidence can’t hide from UV light. UV light reveals hidden blood, fingerprints, and fibers as well as subcutaneous bruises on living and dead bodies.
This light is available in four wavelengths:
- Blue 400 nm (9 LED)
- Standard 385nm (9 LED)
- Invisible 365nm (5 Cree LED.)
- Blue 460nm ( 21 LED )
Most people will want the 400nm. The difference between the lights is:
- 400nm light — has the least UV and most visible light. The 400nm light is useful for hunting scorpions, urine and demonstrations of UV. No goggles are needed.
- 385nm light — is useful for hunting scorpions, urine and demonstrations of UV. Since it has considerable invisible UV light, it is often used with orange goggles to assist in visualizing stains. Protective eyewear should be worn.
- 365nm light — has less visible light and more UV light than the 385nm light. It is useful for forensics. Protective eyewear must be worn. This light has an additional white light on the handle end of the unit.
Orange viewing goggles are sometimes used with UV lights to enhance the contrast of fluorescent fingerprint powder and to visualize fibers and body fluids. You can add orange goggles to your order here.
