Case Description: Spenser Brooks death investigation

On January 25, 2021, a passerby notified the Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff's Department of potential evidence located in a wooded area beside a road in north Yoknapatawpha County.

CSU responded to the scene and recovered the following evidence items near the intersection of Wilkins Chapel Road and Little Spring Creek, approximately one mile south of the crime scene and one-quarter mile west of Highway 7.

Both items are undergoing further analysis to determine their connection, if any, to the Spenser Brooks homicide.


Recovered along Wilkins Chapel Road:

  • 000333-27: One (1) Smith & Wesson Model 642 .38 Special revolver
