Andrew Needham, FTEE of the Mississippi Crime Lab contacted Yoknapatawpha County Sheriff's Detectives by telephone for a verbal report.
Needham indicated that the tire track (Evidence # 000333-28) discovered near the scene of the Spenser Brooks homicide is consistent with a Michelin Defender LTX M/S 235/70R16 All-Season Tire.
Needham said that tire is typically used on SUV, crossover, and light truck vehicles.
The Crime Lab will provide an official report of these findings for the case file in the coming days.
A check of local retailers determined the tire is not currently in stock locally but can be ordered for delivery in 2–7 days.
Investigation of YCSD Case # 000333-23A-2021 is active and ongoing as of this date.
