Amadeo Peralta: I'm Amadeo Peralta, 126 Tanglewood Drive.
Detective Murphy: Mr. Peralta, you're employed at the Yoknapatawpha County Conference Center?
Amadeo Peralta: Yeah.
Detective Murphy: What's your position there?
Amadeo Peralta: I'm a Guest Services Attendant.
Detective Murphy: And what does that mean?
Amadeo Peralta: It means I take care of the guests. Usually, I'm a bellman. Sometimes I deliver room service. Sometimes I do other stuff. Whatever they tell me to do, that's what I do.
Detective Murphy: And were you working this past Saturday night?
Amadeo Peralta: Yeah.
Detective Murphy: We understand you might've seen something in the parking lot that night.
Amadeo Peralta: Who told you that?
Detective Murphy: Did you see anything?
Amadeo Peralta: I didn't see anybody killing a guy if that's what you mean.
Detective Murphy: No, I didn't think you did. Listen, Mr. Peralta— may I call you Amadeo?
Amadeo Peralta: Whatever.
Detective Murphy: Okay, Amadeo, you're not in any trouble here. We're not accusing you of anything. We're not trying to get you in trouble with your bosses. We just want to know what you saw in the parking lot that night.
Amadeo Peralta: Yeah, okay. So this guest, he sends me out to his car to get one of his bags. While I'm out there, I see these two women having some kind of drama.
Detective Parker: What kind of drama exactly?
Amadeo Peralta: Man, I don't know. The daughter was crying, and the mom was trying to calm her down.
Detective Parker: We were told that you saw someone fighting in the parking lot that night.
Amadeo Peralta: Yeah.
Detective Parker: That was this mother and daughter?
Amadeo Peralta: Yeah.
Detective Parker: What makes you think they were fighting?
Amadeo Peralta: The girl was crying, wasn't she?
Detective Parker: And what makes you think this has something to do with Douglas Reed's death?
Amadeo Peralta: Nothing. I never thought that. You guys came to me, remember?
Detective Murphy: All right, Amadeo. Do you remember what time you saw the women in the parking lot?
Amadeo Peralta: Not really. Maybe 9:15, 9:30 p.m.?
Detective Murphy: Other than one of them crying, were they doing anything suspicious?
Amadeo Peralta: No.
Detective Murphy: Okay, then. Thanks again for coming in.
