Case Description: Annette Wyatt homicide investigation

Investigators spoke to Chris Frost's friends, co-workers, and neighbors to try to corroborate her alibi for the time Annette Wyatt was killed.

These interviews are representative of all interviews conducted.

Grace Frost

Grace Frost is Chris Frost's mother.

Participants:

  • Detective S. Murphy
  • Detective E. Parker
  • Grace Frost

Detective Murphy: Mrs. Frost, we need your name and address for our records.

Grace Frost: My name is Grace Frost, and I live at 1627 Pierce Avenue Exd.

Detective Murphy: I'm sure you heard that Annette Wyatt from the Harte Agency was murdered. Do you know what relationship your daughter, Chris, had with Ms. Wyatt?

Grace Frost: Ms. Wyatt sold Chris a house a couple of months ago. It's a nice house, and she got a great interest rate, but Chris wasn't satisfied. She said Annette Wyatt lied to her.

Detective Murphy: Did she tell you what Annette allegedly lied about?

Grace Frost: She told me that Annette Wyatt said they would remain friends after she bought the house. When Ms. Wyatt didn't return her calls or text messages, Chris got very angry and said Annette betrayed her. I told her to leave the woman alone.

Detective Parker: Did Chris listen to what you told her?

Grace Frost: No, she didn't. Chris doesn't have many friends, and I think she was mistaken, thinking Annette Wyatt was really her friend.

Detective Parker: Do you know where your daughter was on Saturday?

Grace Frost: I only know what Chris told me. She said she worked during the day and went to the pep rally that night. Then she went home and went to bed. She always jokes about going to the football functions to meet eligible men.

Detective Parker: Mrs. Frost, do you think your daughter was so angry after Annette Wyatt rejected her as a friend that she may have harmed her?

Grace Frost: No, of course not! Chris has a good heart. Sometimes I think she's too caring.

Detective Parker: Thank you for talking to us.

Julia Wright

Julia Wright is a manager at Neilson's Department Store, where Chris Frost works.

Participants:

  • Detective S. Murphy
  • Detective E. Parker
  • Julia Wright

Detective Murphy: Thanks for taking the time to speak with us. Before we get started, we need your name and address for our records.

Julia Wright: My name is Julia Wright, and I live at 3036 Davis Drive. Call me Julia.

Detective Murphy: Julia, we need to ask you a few questions about your co-worker, Chris Frost.

Julia Wright: I'll tell you what I know.

Detective Murphy: How long have you known Chris Frost?

Julia Wright: I met her five years ago when I came to work at Neilson's.

Detective Murphy: How is Chris as a worker?

Julia Wright: She's very dependable, and if I need someone to fill in, she's always willing to help.

Detective Parker: Have you read or heard anything about the Annette Wyatt murder?

Julia Wright: I did read about it in the paper, but Chris told me about it first. I know Annette Wyatt helped her buy a house a couple of months ago. Chris was very upset about her death.

Detective Parker: Did Chris tell you anything else about Annette Wyatt?

Julia Wright: Chris said nice things about her all the time when she was looking for houses. After she bought the house, her attitude seemed to change toward Annette.

Detective Murphy: How so?

Julia Wright: Chris said she was going to file a complaint against her with the Better Business Bureau. I asked her why, but she never gave me an answer.

Detective Parker: Did you see Chris Frost on Saturday?

Julia Wright: Chris and I worked in the morning. All I know is that she said she was going home to rest for a while, then she was going to the pep rally that night. She always jokes about going to the football things to meet men.

Detective Murphy: Do you know whether she did, in fact, go to the pep rally?

Julia Wright: I assume so.

Detective Murphy: What about Sunday? Did you see her then?

Julia Wright: No, we're closed on Sundays.

Detective Parker: Thank you for your time.

Tammy Simmons

Tammy Simmons is one of Chris Frost's neighbors.

Participants:

  • Detective S. Murphy
  • Detective E. Parker
  • Tammy Simmons

Detective Murphy: To get started, would you give us your name and address for our records?

Tammy Simmons: I live at 39 CR 401.

Detective Murphy: How long have you known Chris Frost?

Tammy Simmons: I met her a few months ago when she came with Annette Wyatt to look at my house. It's on the market to sell. My husband's job is transferring him to another state.

Detective Murphy: Was Annette Wyatt your realtor?

Tammy Simmons: No, I have another agency.

Detective Murphy: Did you have an opportunity to talk with Ms. Frost when she came to look at your house?

Tammy Simmons: I only spoke to her for a few minutes. She told me my house was beautiful, but it might be too large for her, and she said I should change realtors because Annette is the best. I thanked her and told them to feel free to check out the house, and I left.

Detective Murphy: When did you have the opportunity to speak with Chris Frost again?

Tammy Simmons: A few weeks later, she came by and told me Annette talked her into buying the house next door because she thought it suited her better. Chris said she shouldn't have listened to her because Annette lied.

Detective Parker: Did she explain what she meant by that?

Tammy Simmons: Not really. What she said didn't make much sense to me. It sounded like she was upset because Annette Wyatt wouldn't answer her calls.

Detective Parker: Did you see Chris Frost on Saturday, the day Annette Wyatt was murdered?

Tammy Simmons: I saw her that morning leaving for work. She waved at me. And then, I saw her car in the driveway later in the day, but I didn't see her.

Detective Parker: Thanks for your help.
